19th Old-timer Rally

trasa Zagreb - St. Ivan Zelina - Zagreb
info: The Zagreb old-timer rallies take place traditionally in the first half of June. Only once, the 4th in 1989 was held in May. The experiences get from nineteen years showed that this period of the year is very stable. Only two rallies of nineteen held were in rain. The one in “Jastrebarsko” in 1988 when strong rain began at ten o’clock at the moment of start of the first car from “Tehnički muzej” and kept falling till the end of the happening in the late afternoon. The second time was that one to the castle “Bežanec” in 1994 when rain started at the time of assembling in “Automehanika servisi” but at the moment of passing the control point in “Krapinske toplice” the sun was again shining. For the Zagreb rallies even contra weather conditions with great heath following our rallies are common. The 19th Zagreb rally had luck with the meteorological conditions. Although the rain signed that part of the year neither the first nor the second day of the rally were rainy, and a light cloudy weather caused very pleasant air temperature. On Saturday the 5th of June the traditional promotion show over the streets of Zagreb with a longer stay on the square “Jelačićev trg” ended in the halls of “Auto moto klub Siget” in “Novi Zagreb”. On Sunday the 6th of June from “Automehanika servisi” in street of knight Zvonimir nr.25 50 cars and 23 motorbikes started. The colon passed Dubrava till Sesvete and later on the old Varaždin road till “Sv.Ivan Zelina” where a skill and accuracy examination was held. After a break on the main square and visit to the vine celery the historical vehicles returned to Zagreb on the same way till the end in the brewery “Zagrebačka pivovara” where in the restaurant “K pivovari” a lunch was served and the prizes were divided. The oldest vehicles were the car Ford A Phaeton from 1927 of ing.Željko Skukan from Zagreb and the oldest motorbike Puch 250 T from 1928. of dr. Radovan Marjanović Kavanagh also from Zagreb. Both are members of the Old-timer club Zagreb.
